Kaitlyn and another nurse were helping me stand for the first time after back surgery, and I crumpled to the floor. It seems my blood pressure had suddenly and unexpectedly fallen quite low….All I remember was seeing the floor and feet and hands slowly lifting me up. I felt so out of control…and I could feel a panic attack coming on. Kaitlyn got on the bed with me and held me, saying that she had me, and I was going to be okay. My body and nerves were amping up, and I felt totally out of control, but she got me to breathe with her, relax a bit, and find my ‘happy place’. The truly amazing part came next when someone else came into my room and told Kaitlyn someone was looking for her, but she said in response that she was staying right there with me and that I was her sole concern, so please try to find someone else…I felt as though an angel had her arms around me at that moment! Her care and persistence helped me regroup completely, and allowed me to get a handle on my recovery.

Thank you, Kaitlyn, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
