Kalcey went above and beyond for not only me but my family as well.
I am a 71-year-old diabetic with chronic renal failure and am currently waiting for a kidney transplant. Physicians, healthcare workers, family, and friends were and are continually reminding me of my slim chance of survival if I should contact COVID-19.
Well, despite all efforts, the inevitable happened. I contracted COVID-19. I was admitted to the hospital from the ED with pneumonia and positive COVID-19. My family was amazed and extremely concerned about my short IP stay of only 3 days.
However, the short stay was complemented with a discharge call from Kalcey Schneider, an amazing RN Care Manager. My Telemonitoring equipment was not working- Kalcey went above and beyond to ensure I had working equipment ASAP. Kalcey arranged for a community paramedic to come into my home to ensure my needs were met. Kalcey ensured I had proper Medications and was compliant with medications. Kalcey ensured that proper channels were followed to allow my family member access to my records by adding a family member as an emergency contact.
Throughout my hospital stay, I came across many nurses and doctors who demonstrated compassion, empathy, and responsiveness; however, Kalcey went above and beyond for not only me but my family as well. All efforts were made to ensure I was making slow but sure daily progress towards wellness. This is just one example of Kalcey's efforts of going above and beyond the call of duty and providing extraordinary care.
