I would like to commend Kaleigh Thompson for the exceptional care and compassion she showed my dad during his hospital stay. From the very beginning, Kaleigh formed a genuine connection with him. She didn't just provide medical care - she made him feel seen, heard, and safe. She consistently took the time to explain everything that was happening in ways he could truly understand, which eased his anxiety and helped him feel more in control during a very scary time.

What stood out most was her extraordinary dedication. Before my dad's heart catheterization, Kaleigh actually came back on her day off just to check on him and help put him at ease. That act of kindness meant more to our family than words can express. It showed that her compassion goes far beyond her job description - she truly cares about her patients as people. While every staff member we encountered at MUSC Florence was exceptional and gracious - from the cath lab team and cardiology team to the nurses, nursing assistants, lab staff, housekeeping, and dietary services - Kaleigh was the shining star. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine empathy made a lasting difference in my dad's experience and in our family's peace of mind. We will always remember the comfort and confidence she gave us during such a vulnerable time. She embodies everything the DAISY Award represents.
