I was always hurting and calling all the time; Kaleigh always came in with a smile and tried everything to make me comfortable. Despite me being on the call light often, she never complained or told me to stop calling. Kaleigh always displayed compassion and focused on my care. It was always so good to see her, I knew I would get excellent care. She was a true angel for this patient.

This was a difficult episode for me, and I had a lot of anxiety. Kaleigh noticed my anxiety and discomfort; she pulled up a chair and said, “Talk to me. Help me help you.” I needed to vocalize my feelings…her noticing and encouragement gave me the chance to get that out and alleviate the stress. Kaleigh is a rock star!

Kaleigh is one of the most caring nurses I have ever had in my 66 years. She explained things in a way to make them easy to understand, speaks clearly, and easy to understand. When I went for a walk, I saw a big recliner (mine was too small and not working), I mentioned it to my nurse in a kidding way, and 20 minutes later, Kaleigh brought me a larger recliner. That’s going way above the call of duty. I’m very impressed with her, Kaleigh represents UTMB very well.
