I was a patient at Harbor Regional Health for the birth of my first child. The nursing staff as a whole was exceedingly caring and supportive in every aspect of my care; however, one nurse in particular made me feel safe and ensured I was receiving the best care possible. Kalene was my primary nurse throughout the day when most of my care was needed, including my son's birth. From quite literally delivering my baby to the minute tasks of assisting with feeding positions, every facet of her care was impeccable. My son had a very scary incident during birth as he came out not breathing as well as he was stuck in the birth canal. She took charge and all but saved his life. Immediately after, she was back at my bedside, reassuring me everything was okay, and the baby was fine. Without her, my mental well-being throughout the duration of my stay would have been atrocious. I'm not entirely sure if people having a "calling" for careers is real, but I do believe Kalene is a natural and outstanding nurse, and the best I've ever been a patient of.
