I have been a nurse for 20 years now. I have worked in many capacities in acute care, from ICU to med-surg. I also had the pleasure of teaching nursing school for 5 years. In this time, it is fair to say I have oriented and precepted hundreds of students. I have NEVER seen someone more born to be a nurse. Kaley is exceptional. Sometimes baby nurses are so overwhelmed and wrapped up in the task, that they forget to be empathetic. Kaley has a gift to not only recognize the need for empathy but to make time for it. Quite a task for a new nurse. I believe on a fast-paced med surg floor, time management is a HUGE obstacle. I've been working with this amazing young woman since the beginning. First one patient, then two and most recently I had the pleasure to work with her on 5 patients. SHE OUT CHARTED ME. She takes time to note all details, large and small. I truly have never had the privilege of being a part of such an exceptional and amazing journey! The world and Mother Frances are lucky to have gained such an amazing RN! She's going to do great things, but mostly she's going to do it with compassion and empathy.
