I needed major surgery in August 2025 and afterward started seeing Kaley regularly at my clinic follow-up appointments. The recovery process has been incredibly difficult, embarrassing, and full of complications. I’ve been going to this clinic every few weeks for the past 6 months, and during that time, Kaley has become not only one of the highlights of my visits but also a trusted advocate for my care. She is incredibly compassionate and attentive to my needs. She goes above and beyond to make me feel less self-conscious about my recovery process, offering extra privacy and independence when possible. Kaley listens intently to my needs and frustrations and has repeatedly been a fierce advocate for me, even standing up to other members of my healthcare team to make sure I am heard. She has celebrated wins with me, has brought me tissues when there are setbacks, and has encouraged me to keep pushing through when I’m at my wit’s end. I cannot imagine showing up to those clinic appointments without Kaley being there to greet me- her presence, her care, her advocacy, and her friendship have made me feel so much less lonely during a very hard season of life. As a patient and fellow nurse, I strongly believe Kaley’s kindness and dedication deserve recognition through the DAISY Award. She exemplifies everything that a nurse should be- not just through her compassion, but in her honesty and advocacy as well.

Thank you, Kaley, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
