January 2026 Honoree
Kali Brown, RN
My daughter was admitted for her asthma due to a virus that caused it. At night, my daughter’s oxygen would drop, and Kali stood by her bed to watch and reassure me that she would help her. She made the call to put her on oxygen after she noticed she was struggling to breathe. After an hour, my daughter’s oxygen was stabilized. The next day, Kali stood with me as I told the doctor what happened. She supported me - had she not, my daughter would have been discharged. She saved my daughter’s life! Thanks to Kali, they caught on to the need to increase medication and really monitor her, and the importance of parent/nurse teamwork.
Thank you, Kali, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
