For almost a full year as a weekly oncology patient, I could write a book on all the things that make Kali a DAISY Nurse. For the overwhelming 1st time I received chemo and sat in her chair, there was an immediate feeling of being in the compassionate, concerned, inspirational, and dedicated care of a nurse who cares on a level I had never experienced before. During the course of my battle with cancer, Kali has always been dedicated to providing me with the necessary care to ensure things get done; there have been 2 instances where I have ended up in the ER and then been admitted, but had been denied by the on-call services of being in contact with oncology on-call doctors. In both these instances, Kali went above and beyond, taking time away from her family on the weekend to ensure my cancer care/oncology and radiation teams were made aware and in the know. Both times, she got the ball rolling for the elaborate coordination between the main hospital and the cancer center to ensure the best possible care and was extremely concerned, compassionate, ethical, and dedicated to helping. It has meant the world to me and my family having her on our team. I am forever indebted.
