When she first walked in she said, “Hey sis” and “We are having a baby today!” She became really excited and made me feel like family. Truly down to earth, she explained everything clearly and never freaked me out with all the chaos going on with having a baby. She had the perfect mix of sisterly love and a calm mindset. She always listened to me and my husband, she reassured us everything was going as anticipated. She was able to read how my body was progressing and made small changes to comfort me before I even realized I needed it. Amazing! She worked extremely well with my husband-which every mom-to-be loves to see. She trusted her gut to go grab another nurse, to play “tug-of-war” with me to get my baby out. She trusted her team to rush to the bathroom when I was about to pass out after delivery. Her teamwork with her co-workers, including the doctor was like watching a family work towards a common goal. She has many admirable qualities, including calmness, dedication, caring, and being extremely friendly throughout her entire shift. She made our baby a little “I’m here” sign to put in his bassinet. Also, always on top of her game, and always knew what to do in any situation.

This is her most outstanding area of PETALS. Months after I had my baby, with her help, I still look back on my experience and always remember her. She is a lifelong friend now, and I joke that she is already on my list for when I have another baby. She was by my side for over 6 hours while I was in labor. She never once got irritated, she was truly excited and wanted to be there for me. I had to tell her to go grab some lunch, ha! She will always hold a special place in our hearts.
