I nominated Kalie Wood, Nurse Educator, for the DAISY Award for her interim leadership support for point of care testing in SAMG. Kalie willingly stepped into an unfamiliar role to fill a critical gap in our medical group and has continued to do so for several months while also balancing her role as a nurse educator. Kalie played a pivotal role in expanding rapid COVID testing to 13 additional clinics throughout the communities we serve. Her work has supported COVID testing for thousands of patients by offering them rapid results to reduce their anxiety and improve the care they received. Kalie has also supported our colleagues and leaders with important educational needs related to the general point of care testing during this time. Kalie's commitment to excellence and dedication to support SAHS and the patients we serve has been a valuable asset during this much-needed time. We greatly appreciate her help and support and couldn't have done it without her.
