As family arrived, she wanted to give us our time with him. He would not let go of her hand. She had to literally pry his fingers back to slowly pull her hand out of his.
Her bedside manner was above and beyond what we ever thought was possible. Right from the start, she and our father had a unique and strong connection. It was like it was yesterday when she came into his room, put her face right up to his, and said hi! He just beamed from ear to ear. She not only took to his needs, but she always would ask if any of us needed anything as well. Her attention to detail in his case and keeping us all (5 siblings) abreast of his condition was impeccable. At one point, we asked if he could have something to put in his hands as a comfort. Kallie wasted no time in getting him a stress ball to hold, and he never let it go! She knew at the end of her shift that Sunday evening that he was not doing well. She checked, double-checked, and triple-checked with both our father and us as to whether anyone needed anything at the end of her shift. We could feel her sincerity and concern for everyone.

Kallie was in very first thing Monday. Daddy wasn't communicating, but he sure mustered up a smile for her. After his procedure, she ensured she was right there when he was wheeled back into his room. She held onto his hand. As family arrived, she wanted to give us our time with him. He would not let go of her hand. She had to literally pry his fingers back to slowly pull her hand out of his. It was a very touching moment. We all knew it was going to be Daddy's last day. Family gathered, and we all reminisced. All the time with Kallie popping in as much as she could and joined in our family's crazy stories, our laughter, and our tears.

There are people who come in and out of life, Kallie is one who came into our father's life when he needed an angel the most. Our family could not have asked for a better representation from heaven! She has left a mark on every single one of our hearts and most of all, our father's. The comfort care and special undeniable attention she provided to Father in his last hours were irreplaceable.
