We have had a patient in ICU for over two weeks. He had no family and all his medical care was guided by our hospital’s ethics team. The compassion for this dying man just overwhelmed me this morning. The professionalism of the nurses and student nurses just really moved me. They made him comfortable, held his hand, and made his passing pleasant and peaceful.

It's nice to see RNs live by the motto "Treat others how you would like to be treated”.

They made several phone calls trying to get his daughter here to see her day. So, it was nice that he still had hands to hold when he passed away.
