Ms. Haynes exemplifies what a nurse should be. This morning after her 12-hour shift, she left and returned with a pair of reading glasses she had purchased for one of her patients. This Veteran was so upset that he could not read his bible since leaving his glasses at home. Sometimes, it's not the meds, but the extra step that helps our patient to go home. This Veteran was truly grateful for the gift. I handed him the glasses and he thanked me profusely. I explained that Kalyn had gotten them for him. He was so touched! He actually teared up.
