October 2024 Honoree
Kamyiah Blackmon, RN
I haven't been excited in a while. I was diagnosed with late-stage cancer and all my hair fell out. I didn't want people looking at me weird. I haven't felt good in a while, but Kamyiah gave me back that feeling of excitement, and she deserves a lot of credit. Every excitement I got was because of her. She bought me a wig and over a dozen hair accessories for it. I may never feel this level of excitement again. She didn't have to, but she went out of her way for me and that made me feel so good. My family met her and they are so grateful that I had someone like Kamyiah take care of me. All of the people on this unit are exceptional and have gone out of their way for me. I am so grateful.
Thank you, Kamyiah, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
