Kandace Beck, RN
I truly believe Kandace Beck saved my life. After what turned out to be a scary delivery of my baby boy, I was in and out of consciousness and losing lots of blood. Not only was Kandace diligently doing her job, but she was also making sure to comfort me and keep me calm. When I couldn't find words because my body was shutting down, Kandace became a voice advocating for me.
While other nurses were assessing options from a clinical standpoint, Kandace trusted her gut and made it a priority to get my doctor there ASAP and get me into surgery. Not only was Kandace a top-notch nurse, but she was also a phenomenal human being. I honestly do not think that without her advocating for me, I would be here today.
She also made it a point to come visit me in the CICU as well as when I returned to the childbirth center. She didn't have to follow up with me, but I think it speaks volumes about her and her character.
