My mother came in for a spinal injection. Kandi was my mother's nurse before the procedure. The last time they did this on my mother, she went unresponsive during the procedure and they called the whole family in because they couldn't bring her back around. They had to do a jaw thrust and several other things to revive her. When I told Kandi about that incident, she went so far above and beyond her job to research all of mom's past procedures and find out what happened and what caused it to happen to ensure that it did not happen again. The charting on the previous events was suspicious to me and she went out of her way to dig deeper and find out exactly what had happened. Then she explained all of our options and the benefits versus risks of everything. She put our minds at ease about proceeding with the anesthesia in a much smaller amount.
Kandi also made sure my 72-year-old mother knew that she could stop the procedure at any time she became too uncomfortable. My father has had 7 heart attacks over the years, I have had one as well. My mother has had several procedures also. I'm just saying this to point out that we have dealt with our fair share of different doctors and nurses over the years, and Kandi was absolutely the most kind, patient, knowledgeable, and truly vested, caring professional that we have ever dealt with. I honestly can't say enough good things about her!!!! Thank you so much and please see to it somehow that Kandi gets the recognition that she so definitely deserves!!!
