I wanted to make sure that you knew how appreciative I am to the step down staff for the care of my husband and me. Specifically, I wanted you to know what Kandice did for me. After the last MRI, the doctor asked Kandice to meet with me in private. When she came to meet me, I knew the news was bad. It was 7 pm (end of shift). I asked her if she was going to stay with me. She said that she would. She stayed with me, and held my hand for almost an hour while we waited for the doctor, and while he told me that horrible news of my husband's cancer. It meant the world to me that she took the time away from her own family to support me and my family.
