My mother was admitted, her condition began to deteriorate, and she was moved to CICU. She had the great fortune of having Kandie Brewer as her nurse. Kandie was so caring and compassionate and worked so very hard to stabilize my mom.
I was not in town as all this was happening and Kandie called me and explained everything that was going on. At one point we were fearful that mom would not survive the night and Kandie offered to Facetime me so I could see and speak with my mom. My father was here alone and Kandie made sure he was kept informed.
My mother survived until I could get home. The reason she survived that long was Kandie Brewer. Kandie will never know how much her hard work meant to me and my family. Kandie's hard work allowed me to have precious last moments with my mom. I don't have the words to express how important that was to me.
Kandie is my angel and I will be forever in her debt. Kandie is the nurse that we should all strive to be.
