My brother and I came to visit my mother in the ICU. As we were entering her room, so was her nurse, Kanisha. Kanisha greeted us and introduced herself. She was the kindest nurse I have ever seen. She informed us of my mother’s status not just from a medical standpoint but also from a more personal point of view. She told us how she would speak to my mother, who was sedated and on the ventilator when she would be checking or cleaning her. The way she interacted with my mom was with loving care. When I got a little emotional talking to Kanisha about my mother she consoled me like a friend. I believe she really treats people how she would want to be treated. She deserves to be recognized. Thank you for having Kanisha as my mother’s nurse.
