Kara Crites, BSN, RN

I'd like to nominate Kara Crites, ICU RN, for providing exceptional, whole-person care. Kara recently took care of a patient who was homeless after the weather had turned extremely cold. Kara ensured that the patient was always treated as a human; she knew how he took his coffee, called him by name and never forgot the importance of human touch. 

This patient, being homeless, did not have access to laundry and was without shoes. Kara and her family took the patient's clothes home and laundered them so he would have clean clothes and they also bought him shoes out of their own pocket. 

Kara treats every patient with kindness and compassion, and I firmly believe that on this day, she touched this man's heart and truly made him feel seen and valued for the first time in a long time.
