My husband has many chronic ailments. During a recent hospital stay, we were blessed to have Kara as our nurse. We’ve never had a nurse so accommodating and kind, not only to my husband (her patient) but also to me and our family. When a particular diagnosis took me by surprise, and I was visibly shaken, she was a wonderful comfort. She not only explained the medical issue, but also called the appropriate people for me to talk to: doctor, charge nurse, pulmonary, etc. But most importantly to me, she shared a similar diagnosis of her own mother. We shared a bond as caregivers to our loved ones. I’m still moved to tears recalling her kindness to me. She patiently and willingly answered any question I had. I’m so grateful for her excellent nursing care! But even more grateful for her kindness and family care. I told our daughters she should work for the Schuster Heart floor because she touched our hearts so deeply.
