Kara identifed a patient who needed extra teaching regarding understanding and management of his diabetes. She involved the patients wife, pharmacy and she herself created laminated visuals that the patient was able to comprehend and repeat back accurately involving doses of insulin, when to administer, blood glucose levels, symptoms related to high and low blood sugars. The patient and his wife stated " this is the only place that cares, has taken the time to make sure we understand. Kara is so good, so amazing with teaching us what we need to know in a way we can understand. She is an angel, so patient with us and answered all of our questions."
