My husband J was at Sparrow Clinton Hospital for 8 days with a severe UTI. Our daughter was getting married in 2 weeks. She and I were incredibly stressed and worried that he could not be there. She insisted on cancelling the whole wedding. Kara was absolutely amazing in how she kept me informed about everything going on. I voiced my concerns and she relayed the messages and then got back to me. This happened several times. I so appreciated it because J was so out of it and not making any sense, so I needed communication with the hospital badly. Even when J left to transfer, Kara helped me carry all his belongings out to the car. She hugged me and asked me to tell my daughter to have a beautiful wedding with her Daddy there. What an angel of a nurse.

Kara was great! I'll be straight forward, I hate hospitals. I don't think hospitals are bad just never in one for anything good, usually when someone's dying. Anyways my blood pressure goes through the roof, I get angry and have walked out on procedures before. But today I was calm. Kara let me tell old army stories and just her demeanor and kindness put me at ease. She was soft spoken, attentive, kind, focused on my needs and experience. All the staff involved was great but Kara was phenomenal. She put my nerves to ease and even has me believing hospitals aren't so bad. I've always been a difficult patient but because of her, I think I was actually a good patient today.

Thank you, Kara, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
