Kara Poole, RN

I stayed with my 97-year-old mother in her room 24/7 for a hip surgery that she had. It is very hard to choose only one nurse, but Kara was above and beyond. She felt like part of my family. Even though she was busy, she tried to make time to listen to my memories and joy that my mom and I shared. She also listened to my hurt and sadness of putting her in comfort care and how I had to listen to my mom’s cries of pain. She did everything possible to bring comfort to my mother and me.

Kara provided emotional support when I needed it the most in my life and always asked if I needed anything. I was always happy when she was working because she explained things well and answered any questions I had. She reinforced to me that I was a good, caring daughter when I had doubts. It is so stressful to make major decisions for your parents. Kara would bring calm and compassion to my soul and heart. She has a gift and anyone that has her as a nurse or a loved one is very fortunate.
