Kara Tegan, RN

Kara had a patient on Impella who needed to be transferred out due to needing CRRT. The patient was super sick and needed to transfer out, but the transfer took forever, 8+ hours. Life Flight couldn't transfer to the hospital that the patient was supposed to go to. We would have to do a whole new transfer process to get them to another hospital, which would delay care for them even more. Kara was willing to go with the patient and manage Impella during the transfer so that the patient would get the care they needed in the appropriate time frame. Kara advocated for the patient to get the care they deserved and needed, and was willing to go out of her way to help that happen. She stepped up and didn't think twice about not helping. This is Kara to a T, and it says so much about her and the Nurse Thang she is!!
