June 2026 Honoree
Kara Timko, RN
I was in the hospital for a back surgery and could barely get out of bed after the first day. I was scared to walk or even roll over but I was able to with Kara's help. She guided me through everything while I was there from walking safely to what the meds I was taking were and more. She was also the most caring and listened to every concern or question me and my family had and was there for us every step of the way.
If there was anything she didn’t have an answer to, she didn’t hesitate to go find one for us and help us out. She was the reason and motivation that made me able to get up and fight to walk around multiple times a day when I was filled with fear of doing so. On top of this she made it feel less like I was stuck in a hospital often talking to me about her dogs or asking about my life otherwise. She was the most compassionate and attentive nurse I could ask for in such a tough time, and I owe a lot of my quick recovery to her.

Thank you, Kara, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
