Karen is a wonderful nurse who has created a special bond with one of our patients who has been on our floor for quite some time. This special bond has truly meant a lot to him. On two separate occasions, Karen has brought in clippers to trim the patient's hair and beard. She also brought in some nice smelling body wash for the patient to bathe with. Karen is switching her workdays to be with this patient on the day we take his ventilator off so she can be with him to hold his hand when he passes away. She has gone above and beyond in the care of this patient and is very deserving of the DAISY Award.
