As AA, Karen went above and beyond for a patient we had on Peds. This patient was pregnant and had bilateral DVTs. The patient was kept for 2 extra nights because she did not have a ride home. We were forced to discharge this patient, and Karen found her soliciting visitors for rides in the waiting room. Karen drove the patient to a friend’s home in Bedford. Our unit was extremely worried about this patient and we cannot thank Karen enough for this kind act.
