This summer we had two patients admitted from out of state. One was the owner of a small dog with no one to care for her dog. The hospital was considering calling Animal Control to pick up the dog. Karen spoke with her patient, who stated that the dog was his lady friend's comfort and please don't let anything happen to it. Karen made arrangements to care for the dog until the patient was well and discharged from the hospital. The dog and owner were very excited to see each other and its owner was very grateful for the love and care given to her pet.
