This nurse is a phenomenal asset to our unit. As a lead lactation consultant, she has supported our team in maintaining our Texas Ten Step designation. Because she is so passionate about our team and patients, she is 100% responsible for getting donor breast milk on our unit to serve our NICU babies and babies of diabetic mothers. She was instrumental in establishing our hospital as a drop-off site for a mother’s milk back and a purchase site for donor milk to better serve our patients and community.

This nurse has always had a heart for our patients and has worked with neonatology to set up outpatient well-check and lactation consultant visits that are a free service to our patients. This has helped with keeping our babies healthy and safe and decreasing stress for breastfeeding mothers.
