Our son was in the SCCU there starting with the first night and we saw her most every day it seemed. She always had a smile for us and asked how we were. One time when his blood pressure dropped extremely low, Karen and 2 others were in the room immediately. All 3 doing different things and Karen calmly explaining to us what was going on.
It was a difficult, stressful time for us and she helped us through it. Always explaining things and answering questions. The care and compassion she showed toward us will never be forgotten. I'd give a DAISY Award the whole SCCU staff if it were up to me. But if I could only pick one, it would be Karen!
