Karen Boyd, RN

I came into the Emergency Room with a bulging eye. I was terrified and thought I would immediately lose my eye. The doctors diagnosed me with orbital cellulitis and I was admitted within hours. I was sent to the second floor. Karen was my nurse the next morning and I will never see nurses the same way. Karen is more than attentive. She shows she loves her patients. I have been feeling very down and she has been more than a nurse and caregiver - she has been a friend. She communicated with the doctors promptly as soon as I had any concerns. She always showed up immediately when I called for her or within a very reasonable time. She made me feel like a person, not a patient. To top it off her sense of humor was probably the best medicine I got. She is now like family to me.
