During the past year and a half, I have been a patient working with Nurse Karen Breznak. My health journey is complicated, yet Karen is always willing to spend the time explaining procedures and outcomes to me. Often, she has to explain and retell them to me more than once, but each time does it with grace and patience.

In a recent visit to the clinic, I was feeling especially unwell and things with my current state of wellness declined quickly during the visit. Karen stayed calm the entire time reassuring my husband that I was okay while all the time caring for me. Not only did she provide the necessary medical attention I required but she went above and beyond by getting other professionals to assist in wrapping me in warm blankets, rubbing my shoulders, and speaking to me in a calm voice reassuring me that I was okay. Her genuine kindness made a very frightening situation for my husband and me one that we were ultimately able to walk away from knowing I had received the very best care and concern.

That same day Nurse Karen stayed with me every moment until I left the clinic, walking me to the lobby, sitting with me outside while my husband got our car, then ensuring I was safely buckled into the car. The next morning, she called us to ensure I was feeling okay and to ask if there was any follow-up care that day that needed to be provided. Karen is an extraordinary human and the kind of nurse every patient deserves and hopes for when facing medical challenges and potentially life-changing medical procedures. I am so grateful to Nurse Karen. She will always hold a dear place in my heart. From my heart, thank you, Nurse Karen.
