She said that Karen went above and beyond what she would’ve expected from anyone and her caring and compassion would be remembered by her always.
During leader rounding, a patient shared an experience she had with one of our staff members.
When she was admitted she talked to Karen and told her about her husband, who was on hospice. She was not sure he would survive the night. When her phone rang at 4 AM Karen came to the room immediately and stayed with her while she received the news of her husband‘s passing. Karen also stayed with her while she called other family and stayed with her to offer her support and comfort.
She said that Karen went above and beyond what she would’ve expected from anyone and her caring and compassion would be remembered by her always. Karen also made leadership on the unit aware of the situation so that we could do something for the patient. Karen even offered her own money to buy flowers for her.
