Karen has been my chemo nurse for the past year and a half. Karen is very knowledgeable about the many chemotherapeutic agents and all associated side effects. She has always answered all my questions making me feel safe and secure as a patient. Karen is extremely efficient and always completes my treatments in the shortest time possible. Karen has a calming effect on me and always lets me know she truly cares about me personally by always asking about or commenting on my personal life. She recalls and asks about my vacations or trips I've taken and even provided me books to read after she learned I am an avid reader. Karen has a great sense of humor too. My sister and I play Scrabble during my treatments - sometimes "cheating" by trading letters. Karen noted, "sometimes it sounds like you two are playing Go Fish!" Silly story, but it reminded me that she truly cares about me and I don't feel like just another patient.
I couldn't ask for a better chemo nurse. Karen has made me feel like we are a team fighting this horrible disease and has calmed my treatment anxiety immensely.
