Karen Ferreira, BSN, RN, RN-BC

Karen's title may be "Director of Surgical Care/Float Pool," but on any given day, she may be wearing scrubs and acting as the charge nurse for the day, taking a patient assignment, or sitting at the desk as a unit secretary. She ALWAYS steps into any role necessary to support her staff. Her calm and approachable demeanor allows for staff to comfortably go to her when needed, knowing she will listen to them and provide guidance on how to resolve their issue. Her door is always open, and her compassion is endless. She handles her responsibilities with professionalism and grace. Each day, she shows up with a positive attitude and asks what she can do to help all of us.

Simply put, Karen inspires us all to do our very best. She creates an environment of compassion and truly values each and every one of us. I feel so fortunate to have her leading our team. She is a positive influence and role model to all of us.
