My wife felt very comfortable around Karen which made a scary (and very meaningful) experience so much easier.
Karen was an incredible help to my wife in the delivery room. Due to the size of our baby's head, he didn’t drop when should have, so my wife needed to be induced. It was a long process (over 21 hours) until she delivered our baby. Karen took over on the night shift when things started to pick up. She did anything and everything she could to keep my wife comfortable and helped move things along by adjusting the peanut and continuing to help move the baby’s head into position. Karen was extremely diligent and conscientious and made it easy for my wife to get rest when time allowed. During the delivery, Karen was an amazing coach. Due to COVID-19 we did not do any classes – we learned what we could from books but having someone like Karen there alongside our wonderful family physician to offer advice and assistance for first-time parents was incredible. My wife felt very comfortable around her which made a scary (and very meaningful) experience so much easier. We’re now the proud parents of a beautiful baby boy and are over the moon to have him in our lives. We have truly appreciated the amazing nursing staff and all the associated caregivers here at Martha Jefferson. It is amazing people like you who truly make all the difference, especially during times like these. You’re all heroes!
