Upon my rounding, I was informed that a patient in January was to be discharged with Med-Cab transportation arranged for pick-up from main lobby. However, transportation arrived at patient's home in Port Angeles, instead of at the hospital. Transportation called Level 12 at approximately 3:30 pm to confirm pick up. The patient's transportation was cancelled, stating that the patient was already discharged. Unfortunately, the patient had been sitting in the main lobby with no supervision and no transportation.
Karen Fry was so diligent in making calls. Her persistence helped and assisted in pick-up arrangements with HopeLink. Patient was finally picked up at around 9:00 pm. I was so impressed with Karen's kind heart. She is a great asset and I am so proud to work with such an amazing team member.
