Dr. Karen Hartje, Clinical Assistant Professor at UW-Milwaukee College of Nursing has gone above and beyond for her students since she started at UWM in 2018. Her students value her commitment to nursing education but also her investment in their success. Dr. Hartje, an Advanced Practice Nurse in Labor & Delivery for many years, came to the College to fulfill her interest in training the next generation of nurses.  Dr. Hartje is well known for her student-centered approach where she ensures students are understanding the concepts taught in Pathophysiology, one of the hardest courses for nursing students. She also makes sure to challenge her students to develop critical thinking skills through her teaching.
