November 2011 Honoree
karen horn, RN
Karen pleasantly and with smiles and a soft voice helped my mom—who is in the hospital for high blood pressure (she has Alzheimer’s). My mother repeatedly refused to take her medicines, then got undressed and took off all heart monitors and other tabs so she could go home. Throughout all the cajoling and talking to my mom Karen remained pleasant, calm, and sweet to my mom (we were frustrated). Karen also kept us informed of all tests and medicines.
Thank you, Karen, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
