On E's very first day of chemo Karen was her nurse. We were all a little nervous, but it didn't take long for us to see that E was in good hands. Karen's no nonsense manner put all of us at ease! Karen and E have similar personalities. Both might not say a lot, but what they say matters! Karen just has a way of putting her patient's mind and that of their family's at ease. E is a quiet kid, but I remember a day right before Christmas as we were checking out of the clinic and E wanted to go back and say goodbye and Merry Christmas to Karen. Karen gave her the sweetest hug and as a mom I thought about how lucky I was to have a nurse like Karen taking care of my daughter! Karen is like E's clinic grandmother!
