Karen is a case manager assigned to 7W. There was a homeless patient who was transferred to Mercy from another facility. During the transfer, the patient's clothing and shoes were lost. Also prior to admission at the outside facility his wallet was stolen. When he was able to be discharged he had no clothing. Karen purchased out of her own pocket a complete outfit including shoes so that he was fully clothed when he left Mercy for rehab. Karen went above and beyond in the care for this patient. She demonstrated the core values of Catholic Health in this patient's care.
