Karen is always looking out for what is best for our patients. She works collaboratively with the team to ensure all needs are met. She is known to use her creativity to trouble shoot when "the usual" doesn't work. She doesn't take "I don't know" or "I can't" for an answer or a way out. She will continue to problem solve until the best solution is available for the patient, which may be more work for her, often staying well after her scheduled shift to ensure her patients' needs are met.
She is gentle and caring with all of her patients, and advocates for them when needed. She works well with agencies in the community including home health, skilled nursing facilities, and DME companies. Her inclusion of patients and families and her mentoring skills are exemplary. She will take the time to explain what is needed to be done, with patience, to ensure that her patients get the best possible care needed.
She climbs mountains when an MD states the patient is discharged today, and the wound vac has not yet been approved, she always makes it happen with kindnesses in her heart and a smile on her face. Karen's skill, compassion, and caring are truly an asset to the Bellin organization.
