February 2022 Honoree
Karen L Parker, RN
My father had been so scared to be in the hospital by himself and this was his first time being hospitalized. I live 4 hours away from my parents and I had felt so guilty that I was unable to see him. Karen went above and beyond keeping my father informed and calm but also myself while I was hours away. I felt so blessed to know someone so kind and compassionate was caring for my father during such a scary time in his life.
Even though it has been a month since he was discharged my father still talks about Karen and the great lengths she went to help him through this fearful time. I will continue to voice my gratitude for this nurse. I feel Franciscan is very lucky to have such kind souls walking the halls of their hospitals, especially this nurse we had the pleasure of meeting.

Thank you, Karen L, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
