On an extremely busy night, Karen went above and beyond to care and treat her patients with extreme care and dignity. She never made them feel rushed, stopping to not only lend assistance to the aid but allotting the time to help clean a patient who can be a little more rough around the edges with his words. She not only welcomed his communication but sought to learn more about him, asking about his kids and just building a rapport. Each of her three nights with this man, she built the foundation for him to feel comfortable and pleasant, leading him to strive towards more and participate more. This is only one of her astonishing qualities, though. On another night within her schedule she not only helped her coworker with meds and ivs, she also took on extra patients to allow her the time to catch up. She continues to face a higher acuity of care needed for these patients and not only manages but excels in her attempts.
