The following day, the patient went for Social Out On Pass, and the family personally requested for Nurse Karen to be with their mother.
I was astonished by Nurse Karen and the way she acted when one of our patients is in a dreadful situation. The patient experienced a sudden death in their family and it was her youngest son; her family cannot figure out how to convey the message to her about the tragic incident. Nurse Karen is the assigned one for that specific patient and during the whole process of conveying the message to her patient, she stayed with her most of the time to check her vitals to offer support in her utmost way. She even did not take a break, instead, she checked the patient from time to time to assess her status and V/S.Then after her duty hours, she still managed to send messages to the group to ask about the patient's condition.
The following day, the patient went for Social Out On Pass, and the family personally requested for Nurse Karen to be with their mother. According to the family, their mother is comfortable and feels at ease when Nurse Karen is around and her touch of care lessens the burden and agony, thus they requested personally if possible Nurse Karen can assist them. During discharge, they are delighted and grateful to Nurse Karen as their mother did not feel alone, and she was comfortable during their difficult times. I can attest to Nurse Karen's performance and the way she delivered care to her patient. She is a proactive staff committed to her job. She is involved in departmental activities and untiringly serves her patients with compassion. She is a team player and has the potential to be a future nurse leader.
