February 2021 Honoree
karen montgomery, BSN, RN
I am a kidney transplant patient for readmission and I was telling my RN that I was having trouble paying for my medications.
Auyana contacted the social worker and the case manager and they helped me get on a program to get the medications ($2,000 dollars per month) and get a voucher to get them for $25.00.
That may not mean a lot to you hospital administrators and nurses, doctors, aids but I only make $1200 dollars a month and the meds are more than what I make.
I was crying and upset and Karen and Auyana ended helping me so much with fundraising and future options for generic medication and to change out to an equal but cheaper medication. I want to thank them for going above and beyond to get me help when I needed it most.
