In May I went in for a hernia repair. Although the procedure was minor and I was assured by the surgeon I was in great hands, I was still apprehensive. When Karen did her initial check she was personable, compassionate, and reassuring. She made me feel less anxious and like I wasn’t alone. As I was later wheeled into the OR I was relieved to see Karen’s smiling face. She made conversation and tried to keep my mind off the stress of the surgery. She held my hand until I fell asleep and put my mind at ease. All of these things seem small, but they made the largest impact on my short stay at LRH. Your hospital is blessed to have Karen as part of your team! She was the first thing I told my family about after recovery! Her kindness and beautiful smile will not be forgotten!!
