Karen Poole, RN

Karen is a phenomenal nurse and an even better lead nurse. She handles difficult patient situations with ease and grace. This past weekend, we had two critical patients, and Karen was the oncoming lead for both scenarios. She jumped in and assisted the team with grace and expertise. She ran the floor like a well-oiled machine through the chaos and went above and beyond in supporting her teammates.

When the second consecutive shift started with a patient emergency, Karen maintained her composure and continued to demonstrate the same level of excellence she had displayed the night prior. She coordinated with outside departments to keep our patients safe while ensuring the team was well supported. Karen is stellar with her OR background, sick baby experience, and labor nurse expertise - just one more example of why she deserves to be a DAISY Award Honoree!
